Cashman is a surname of Irish origin, associated particularly with Munster specifically from Counties Waterford, Cork and Kerry. The name can be traced back to the Old Kingdom's of Ireland in 1156AD in the Kingdom of "Deise Mhumhain" meaning South Munster. Its derivation is from the pre 10th century Gaelic O'Ciosain, a surname sometimes recorded as Kissane or Cussane.
