He provides examples of the full range of Greek and Roman maps, including town and building plans, itineraries and road maps, sea itineraries, and maps in art form. O. A. W. Dilke was a professor at the University of Leeds. He taught Classics at University College, Hull, the University of Glasgow, The Ohio State University, and the University of Leeds.
